Resi's Cup #2

Late season Resi's with a different format: head-to-head match play based on handicaps (#1 International vs #1 American, etc.). Likely course is Newcastle - Coal Creek.

Camel Cup #2

The Camel Cup returns to Portland and the 2008 venue, Langdon Farms Golf Club. Neither the current reigning champion nor the last man to win at Langdon will participate as Ben and Tyler can't make the trip. The last Portland winner will be there as Coxy looks to go back-to-back Camels in Portland.

Camel Cup #3

Local Camel Cup event at a course to be determined.

Resi's Cup #1

Cup holders, the Internationals, look to retain the trophy at Echo Falls. A return to tradition as this will be a two-man scramble for all groups.

Camel Cup #1

Those willing and able will tee it up in Scottsdale at a course to be determined. A good kick-off to the Camel season.

That time of the year again to break out your calendars and map out dates for Resi's and Camel Cups.

Camel Cup #3

Another small contingent of Cuppers heading down to Portland for this one. With last year's Portland champion (Tyler Smith) and the current champion (Andy Lund) missing the competition, it's wide open. Half the field is made up of players who have yet to sip from the teet of the Camel trophy. Will the run of first-timers continue?

Competitors with Course Adjusted Handicaps* and my quick take on their chances:

Cox 7 (5.8)
He's been playing with things like Devil's Knob lately, so he's a safe bet to finish top-2 or 3 at worst.
Pearce 12 (10.1)
Pearce typically plays at or near his handicap in Camel Cups, despite not having brought home a win yet. He was disappointed to miss the Portland trip in '08, so he's making up for lost time.
Muller 15 (13.3)
The most "due" of all the competitors, Muller has been working on his game a lot and has greatly improved his tools as well. He has to win one this year, could it be Portland?
Giardina 17 (14.5)
From the "life is like a box of chocolates" theory, you never know what you're gonna get with Giardina. He has lowered his handicap a lot since he last laced 'em up in Portland for the Camel, but he also shits the bed in these competitions.
Kelly 17 (14.9)
A second home to Kelly, Portland is a great venue for him to take the trophy back. With Reesing's senior season and some talent back at WR, only the luck of the Camel Cup is standing in the way of KU winning the Big XII North and challenging for a BCS game.
Middlemiss 20 (17.3)
Known at times to take the drinking aspect of the Camel more serious than the golf, Ben hushed the critics in Scottsdale by shooting his handicap and taking home his first ever Camel trophy. He had a huge front 9 at Trophy only to come apart at the seams on the back. With the 20 shots he's getting, he has to be a contender.

The tee times are slated for the North Course at 12:00, 12:09 and 12:18 (we'll take two of the three times with the other going to Kelly's friends who booked them). We'll divide up the groups then, though it's likely that fellow darrie smokers will be sharing a cart.

Resi's Cup

The Internationals are out for revenge after last year's make-shift lineup went down hard to the seppos.

This will take place at Coal Creek with the following pairings:

Let's sit down and map out available weekends in the new year for us to hold Camel and Resi events. We will do either Hale's or the Roanoke on Mercer Island.

The Camel Cup makes its Portland debut which is sure to inspire the competitors to seek a "dolphin" for a change.

Resi's Cup #1

Last year, the Internationals took the trophy back by winning every group en route to a drubbing of the American team. Who buys the post-match drinks this year?

The tournament will be held at Newcastle's China Creek course with tee times starting around 11 a.m. The competition will be two-man best ball (unless groups desire scramble) with one point each scored for front 9, back 9 and overall. Additionally, individual competitions will be held for KP and Long Drive on each 9 (so four total chances to win).

Cost for the event is $50 with 10 going toward the golf competitions and the other 40 going to the beer fund for the post-match drinks. Winning team gets their 40 back and drinks for free (until funds run out).

Camel Cup #2

The Mullox Bachelor Party is highlighted by the second Camel Cup event of the year. This is the same course where many of you watched the FBR Open last year during Pearce's bachelor party trip.

We have three tee times booked with 13 golfers, assuming one drops off the day of the event. Format is stableford again with 1 point for a net bogey, 2 for a net par, etc. Additionally, long drive on 15 and KP on 16 will be cash eligible along with the Camel. Each golfer puts in 10 dollars and payouts are 30 for each of the contests, 60 for the Camel.

Camel Cup #1

Steve Kelly looks to defend the title that he won last year at Trophy Lake to close out the 2007 season. We have 17 golfers, including 14 Camel-eligible players, booked for the event which will include a $10 buy-in for KP and Long Drive (all paying players eligible).

Tournament rate is $80 per player and includes: printed scorecards, range balls, cart, contest signs (kp/long drive). KP hole will be #3 and Long Drive hole will be #10.

Format
Tournament will be scored in a Stableford format based on adjusted handicap. NET scores per hole are:

0 - Double Bogey or more
1 - Bogey
2 - Par
3 - Birdie
4 - Eagle
5 - Double Eagle
