Hawks Prairie tee time 5/17 at 1:12

I just booked a tee time for Saturday afternoon at 1:12 on the Woodlands course at Hawks Prairie. The weather is supposed to be really nice (80's) so let me know if you are interested...right now it is just me. If interested in playing but not the drive down there, I'm game for anything.

Home Course teetime

Long range forecast for Saturday 26 April looks ok, so I have booked a teetime at the Home Course (great new track) at 10.21am. A good warm-up before we hit Scottsdale. $47 + cart (bring your GHIN card to get this rate - although they have never checked mine).

Course report: Played Druids today (Tuesday). Fairways - very soggy, lots of casual water. Greens: slow, but rolling ok. Punched a couple of weeks back, so mostly recovered.

I want some more inspired Resi's talk from a member of the US team, but I certainly commend you getting the thread started. Maybe you were just going with your gut, but I'm here to fill that gut full of booze and convince you that we're going to hand those fruity internationals their ass in the Resi's this year.

Let me elaborate: Foley's a fraction of the golfer he once was, Pearcer's lucky pants (yes, he needs a new pair) have lost their luster, Gecko’s fragile, Robbing’s can’t hit it out of his shadow, Coxy’s going to have trouble not hitting it off the hozel when the intimidation factor kicks in, Parker’s fcuk’d on principle, and Tyler and Middlemiss will be too drunk to play.

Am I inspired? Yes, this Rambo: First Blood Part II movie that’s on right now is getting me fired up. BRING IT ON INTLs!

I have a call in to the head pro whom I spoke to the first time when I set up the tourney/times. I let him know that we'd like to add a fifth group since we're at 17 right now and possibly getting up to 20. I also let him know that we'd like our tee times to start around 9:30 instead of 11:06 as they are now.

So fyi to those following along. I'll hopefully hear back tomorrow or will call him again.

New Development - My parents are now coming to town on that weekend. Yes, there’s a slight overlap with the wife’s parents, but overall it’s going to be a parental weekend for me with limited beer consumption.

That said, my dad is definitely keen to play in the Camel, but also wants to hang around his grandson. In other words, we’d like to play early if possible so that we can get back to the little guy. I certainly don’t want to be the only one driving the tee times, so if it works for most people to play at 11 instead of 8:30 to 9:30AM, my Dad and I will simply go play another course on that day.

Or maybe, we could just play early, post scores, and then have you guys tell us how we did when everyone makes it in. I know Foster is keen to play early with me. What say you? I could also grab anyone else that needs to play early.

I'll see what I can do. I assume we wouldn't want to go too early. How about starting at 9:30 for the first tee time? We have to head out to Covington afterall.

I'll see if they can do that, but I want to confirm #s first. Right now we have 11. Robbings is possibly in with his dad and brother-in-law. We're also waiting to hear back from Hoggy, Tyler, BJ, Aleem and Nick. Sounds like we'll get 3 groups for sure, quite possibly 4 which is what we have booked right now. But there's a chance we grow up to 5 foursomes.

I tossed out the idea of moving up the tee times by a few hours so that the Camel competitors could compare themselves to the guys playing in the MASTERS on that day.

While sucking down a few penalty shots of Jager, Camel Members could then ponder the idea of the Camel Cup being the third greatest golf event behind (1) The Masters and (2) The British Open; and yell insults at Fatty McButterpants; and root for Tiger, Ogilvy, or Monty.

Other things to consider are the idea of staying at the bar at Druid's for a couple hours after the event to celebrate, then hiring a van/bus to take us downtown for more after we're done so nobody has to drive. Who is interested in that?

The proper way to throw your club

I hope you covered one of the more important bits...which I demonstrated for Coxy today at Washington National...

When throwing your club (driver in this case) in anger, always make sure you throw it away from the body of water that your ball just entered. No need to tack a $250 bill on top of your disgust.
